Who We Are

The roots of Creative Packaging can be traced back to the entrepreneurial thinking of Wes Palmer. Wes grew up in the packaging business but at the age of 26 his father's tragic illness thrust Wes into the role of president of Classic Packaging, and Champion Manufacturing. While Wes was busy building these companies, another kind of packaging concept was also percolating in his mind.  Wes envisioned outlet style packaging stores that would  offer a huge selection of decorative packaging, and would provide customers with exceptional service in a unique and creative environment.

That dream became reality in July, 1993 when Wes married Joanna, a visionary like himself. Joanna's business education and family retail experience provided the foundation for launching the first Creative Packaging outlet-in Edmonton--during Wes and Joanna's honeymoon! Soon after, Wes and Joanna opened a second location in Burnaby, B.C.  Both of these locations initially operated as a division of Classic Packaging, but Joanna realized that in order to provide customers with the products and service they desired, Creative Packaging had to become an entity of its own.

Today Creative Packaging operates independently, while still working closely with Classic Packaging.  Upon visiting one of our stores, customers embrace both the visions of Wes and Joanna.  Just as envisioned, customers experience a unique creative environment and amazing service from personnel who are experts in decorative and retail packaging.
